*The AU - Considering an International Currency
-
c200,000 tonnes of Gold : c$200 trillion current Money Supply;
-
Introduce and test use in parallel to current currencies an electronic-only international currency AU (Amalgamated Unit) based on Gold;
-
Investigate enlarging the Money Supply tenfold to $/AU2,000 trillion (2Z). There is also another scenario in tandem with this... infinite money supply.
Over 20 years ago at the time of the ECU>Euro, I suggested to the Bank of England the idea of the ANU (Amalgamated National Unit) - maybe I shouldn't have put it in to one of those cards that makes a funny noise when you open it. At the time we were busy sorting out the ECU - which became the Euro. After recently viewing the following video, I was inspired to shorten it to the AU (Amalgamated Unit) - pronounced 'Ore'. It could also be named the IC - International Currency - but that doesn't translate in all languages. Au of course is also the symbol for gold.
The AU - a Single World Currency...
2 Zillion AU's (Amalgamated Units) global money supply to replace the current $200 Trillion current money supply.
Backed by 200,000 tonnes of Gold (current world Gold quantity assessment).
Administration of the AU to be by the UN via the Central Banks - and the control of the Central Banks to be handed to the UN.

2020 Vision...
I no longer think that the above ideas are feasible; it would be far easier - now that we have a global financial system of Central Banks which has been put together by the hard work of history's banking families who currently still administer, not own, such, that a global UN Finance International Treaty could be signed whereby every country provides Universal Credit to every person, similar to the Swedish system. This would be means tested to people's needs, not wants. And also like the Swedish system, people should still continue to earn as much money as they want.
There is a far more important use it seems with the chemical properties of gold - in simple terms for health purposes. And there's c100BILLION tonnes of Gold within the first 4 kilometers of the Earth's crust to go around for everyone over time.
